A note from the CEO of Megas Yeeros, Nikos Loustas

I welcome you to the top “MEGA” gyros family. Megas Yeeros is always a forerunner in the industry, exceeding sector standards while setting new rules in meat manufacturing. We write history in Greek gyros production with a modern vision, looking to the future and taking special care of our products and our clients.
Having laid the foundations of an international company, our goal is to spread the brand name Megas Yeeros throughout the world with product excellence. Products that will find their place on the plate of every fan of Greek cuisine and great food in general.

Today, with two factory units in Europe and the United States, with dozens of collaborators in distribution networks and the most specialised and experienced executives, we are the largest producer of original gyros and meat preparations in the world. We work with passion to showcase this excellent product, while we are able to serve our customers, wherever they are in the world.

A LONG HISTORY

2007
MAY
Megas Yeeros production unit was established in Aspropyrgos, Attiki, Greece. This is the most modern factory unit of 10 000 square meters in Greece, for the processing and packaging of meat preparations.
2007
JUNE
Megas Yeeros obtained the ISO 22000 certification regarding food safety.
2008
MARCH
Megas Yeeros launched Macedonian Pork Yeeros, which became the company’s top selling product.
2009
JUNE
The company launched Mega Kebab Politiko. This is made of superior quality pork, lamb and beef meat with eastern spices.
2010
APRIL
Pork gyros from Thessaloniki was inspired by northern Greece culinary tradition and conquered the hearts of professionals and consumers.
2011
FEBRUARY
A full line of filled meat products was inaugurated with the launching of Bifteki (patty) filled with yoghurt, an innovative recipe.
2012
JUNE
Megas Yeeros launched the handmade pork souvlaki, a product that changed the standards of taste in the field.
2012
JULY
The company created the veal Souvlaki. It has tender taste and is high in nutrients, made with top quality veal calf meat.
2013
JANUARY
Megas Yeeros innovated by creating a "Training Academy" with the aim to offer high-level training and development seminars to catering professionals.
2014
MARCH
The company inaugurated another state-of-the-art 5 000 square meters factory unit in New Jersey, USA and became the first gyros industry with 2 factory units worldwide.
2015
JANUARY
Megas Yeeros SA achieved international distinction by receiving the National Champion Award in the category of export activities.

Official inauguration of the Megas Yeeros LLC factory unit in New Jersey, USA.

APRIL
Expansion of Megas Yeeros LLC's business activities through the signature of a strategic partnership with Landmark Group, for setting up 40 shops in the Persian Gulf.

The company launched the innovative product Mega Politiko with Philadelphia cream cheese, taking the traditional recipe to the next level.

JUNE
Bifteki Filled with Epirus feta is a new recipe that combines Greek traditional products with the high quality of Megas Yeeros.

MAY
Important distinction for Megas Yeeros USA at the biggest annual restaurant industry trade show “NRA food show” in Chicago.

NOVEMBER
Megas Yeeros obtained the International Featured Standard (IFS) certification for compliance with special requirements in safety and quality of food products.

DECEMBER
Dimitris Skarmoutsos became a Brand Ambassador for Megas Yeeros and brought a breath of fresh air in the presentation of the products.

Megas Yeeros created Bifteki (patty) made with veal meat, which became a part of daily healthy diet.

MARCH
Megas Yeeros, in collaboration with the Department of Food Technology and Nutrition of the University of West Attica, carried out the 1st Scientific Research on gyros, demonstrating the superior quality of the deep-frozen product over the fresh one.

For the second time, Megas Yeeros was awarded the distinction of National Champion at the European Business Awards, in the category ELITE Awards for Growth Strategy of the Year.

Megas Yeeros USA launched the new Hispanic products line “Mega Sabor”.

The company launched a new line of Mediterranean products having olive oil as main ingredient.

Megas Yeeros, after three years of research, proceeded with a high-tech investment and launched the original line of pre-baked gyros “My Grillers”.

The 2nd business conference “The role of marketing in the catering industry” took place at Stavros Niarchos foundation Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens.

Megas Yeeros obtained the BRC Food Safety Certification on food safety management for the retail network, in accordance with the British Standards.

Greece and the USA
Megas Yeeros started in 2007 as a production facility of Greek gyros and a wide range of other meat preparations. Today, Megas Yeeros has two modern factories in Europe and America, having the status of the largest producer of original gyros and meat preparations, as it distributes its products worldwide. Thanks to its continuous development, Mega Yeeros has managed to introduce Greek gyros on 5 continents, through partnerships it has forged in Europe, the USA, Canada, Panama and the Middle East.

Factory unit in Europe serves: Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Italy, Spain, England, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland.
Factory unit in the USA serves: The USA, Canada, Panama, ant the Middle East.

Compartmentalised company structure
Megas Yeeros is the only company that has invested in the creation of autonomous departments with specialised professionals for each activity. Cooperation between the individual Departments becomes a roadmap for the future expansion to world leader.

Department of Research & Development (R&D)
This department is the link between all company departments (Production, Sales, Marketing, Quality Control, Customer Development & Training). It deals with the scientific and production aspects in order to improve all phases of product implementation and development. Thanks to the continuous study and passion of the people of the Department of Research and Development, Megas Yeeros is linked with innovation through the creation of unique products of the highest standards.

Quality Department
The Quality Department was created to ensure that the strictest standards are applied at each stage of production, in compliance with both the applicable national Legislation and the high European standards. The establishment of International Food Safety Standards, such as ISO22000, IFS & BRC, were decisive factors thanks to which the company not only stood out in Greece, but expanded to foreign markets, moving Greek products to all 5 continents!
Moreover, Mega Yeeros is one of the first companies to have a fully equipped modern laboratory, in which both microbiological analysis (in raw materials, finished products, desktops and equipment) and chemical checks on the composition of raw materials and finished products are carried out every day. At the same time, the high level of cleaning and disinfection is certified by the tests carried out, as well as by checks performed for allergen detection in products (such as gluten, soy, etc.).

Department of Customer Education and Development
The specialised staff of the Department acts in a consulting and educating capacity, with the aim of contributing to the development of Megas Yeeros’ collaborators. This department designs and organises the operation of their stores to achieve their optimal functionality. It shapes the menus based on a recipe book and guides each entrepreneur with the aim of creating a representative business brand, while at the same time providing the financial framework of each recipe aimed at profitability. The Department of Education and Development is constantly in contact with our customers creating long-lasting relationships of trust and respect that form the basis for their continuous development.

Commercial Department
Megas Yeeros partners are carefully selected and receive excellent training to become ambassadors of the company philosophy. Guided by their exceptional skills, they create personal relationships with customers by constantly offering solutions and guiding them in every step of the way. The Sales Department possesses the know-how and the appropriate experience to transmit the values that characterize the company and establish the Megas Yeeros brand in selected locations.

Marketing Department
The contribution of the Marketing Department is decisive since its operation govern the individual Departments. Here the company’s communication strategy is developed through a 360 – degree action plan. New trends are studied, and modern practices are applied, reinforcing the Megas Yeeros brand identity and clients’ brand in the global market. Moreover, the department offers services tailored to the needs of its collaborators, on an off-line and on-line level, but also in terms of the image of their stores through instore marketing actions.

In the last years, export activity has been a key pillar of Megas Yeeros’ growth. Moreover, Megas Yeeros is the only company in the industry with two factory units in Greece and the USA. The factory unit located on the other side of the Atlantic serves the U.S., Canada, Panama and Middle East markets, while the factory located in Greece exports to 16 countries in Europe, the United Arab Emirates and New Zealand.
Exports are a forward-looking bet on growth that Megas Yeeros wins every year through a course that establishes the brand in important markets worldwide. Following a meticulously designed outward-looking policy and guided by research and innovation, the company has made exports an integral part of its operation.
